Growing up in San Diego, California I have the wonderful opportunity to be only a short 20 minute drive from the beach, desert, and mountains. In early December my family took a drive to a small town in the mountains called Julian. On the ride up we stopped to play in the snow and take some pictures. The image above is the original. Now lets have some fun.
To make the sky look a little brighter I selected Backlit out of the many selections.
I didn't need to adjust anything in the photo so I went to Crops. I chose the Golden setting because it automatically will select the best crop for your picture.
Next we go to FX Effects. This is where the app really gets fun. You have 3 pages of special effects that come with the app. They go from Color, to Retro, to Special. For an added charge of 99 cents you can purchase the I <3 Analog which I highly recommend to purchase so that you have more options of effects. For this photo I went to Retro and selected Ansel, a tribute to the great Ansel Adams who was known for breathtaking black and whites of nature.
Next you can select to put a Border around your edited picture. There are Simple borders and there are Styled borders. I went to Styled and selected Viewfinder, going with the Ansel theme to look like the image was taken straight from the viewfinder of an old camera.
The finished product is a fully edited picture that was simple to transform. There are many more possibilities for Camera+ to transform your simple pictures to works of art worthy of any gallery. Again, I highly recommend this wonderful app to have fun with your camera phone.
